Leijonamieli found premises in central Jyväskylä that supports growth and reflects its identity

When the family medical centre Perhelääkärikeskus Leijonamieli went looking for new premises in central Jyväskylä, its goals were clear: the space had to support growth, enhance the customer experience and and feel distinctly Leijonamieli.

The search continued actively for about two years before the right solution turned up in Puistonkulma, a building owned by Kielo.

A space that brings the brand to life

Perhelääkärikeskus Leijonamieli offers medical and therapy services for clients of all ages. Its focus areas are specialist medical care and psychotherapy In spring 2026, the company expanded its services to include sample collection, gynecology, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, and neuropsychiatric coaching.

“We wanted premises in central Jyväskylä that reflect our brand, feel more individual and reinforce an image of quality,” says Laura Paananen, founder of Perhelääkärikeskus Leijonamieli and a specialist in child psychiatry.

For clients visiting the practice, the premises are part of the first encounter. It was therefore important to Leijonamieli that the new environment feel professional, pleasant and approachable all at once.

Puistonkulma brought together exactly what Leijonamieli had been looking for: impressive, distinctive premises in a central location.

Creating a space that feels distinctly Leijonamieli

The move to the new premises was carried out in cooperation with several parties. In addition to Kielo, those involved included interior designer Maru Hautala and the joinery company Astikainen, which designed and manufactured the bespoke furnishing solutions.

According to Hautala, the premises needed to support both the company’s everyday work and the client experience.

“The aim of the design, and the client’s wish, was to bring the brand into the spatial experience. For the consulting rooms, they wanted elements that differ somewhat from traditional consulting rooms, and the color scheme was meant to feel cheerful and homely. We combined home furnishings with furniture for public spaces, while still taking durability and functionality into account.”

The final touches also helped bring more personality to the space.

“Certain solutions had already been decided within the framework set by the builder, Consti, but together with the brand agency Nitro we were still able to add personality to the whole, for example with vinyl wraps and other finishing details.”

Overall, Leijonamieli describes the move as a positive experience.

“Communication went mostly well, and our wishes have been fulfilled,” says Paananen.

Paananen particularly thanks the carpentry firm Astikainen for its flexible response to last-minute changes in the project.

A space that has impressed both clients and staff

The premises cover about 200 square metres on the second floor of Puistonkulma and comprise seven consultation rooms, a lobby, a break room and a storage room. Around 25 independent practitioners work there.

The new environment has been warmly received by both clients and staff: both the building and the space itself have received praise.

“Clients have complimented the distinctive and beautiful premises. The staff have also been happy with the new space,” says Paananen. Asked what is best about the new premises, she answers quickly:

“The light, the character and the cosy atmosphere.”

The premises also support staff in their daily work and wellbeing.

“It’s pleasant to work here, and of course the nice interior adds to the well-being. The indoor air is good all year round, and even during summer heatwaves it has been pleasantly cool inside,” says customer service representative Minttu Niemelä.
