Good colleagues are just as important as good leadership

Many Finns who are working remotely experience loneliness in their jobs, and although some have returned to the office post-pandemic, the amount of in-person work has not returned to pre-pandemic levels. A significant part of job satisfaction can be missed if thoughts cannot be spontaneously exchanged with colleagues.  

 

According to the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health’s “How is Finland Doing” study, community improves well-being in many ways. It can, for example, increase a sense of competence and combat burnout and boredom. Experiencing community at the workplace is not just a nice bonus but a central part of overall well-being. The lack of community easily causes loneliness, as most of the day is spent at work.

To encourage people to come to the office, one key factor is a work environment that serves its users. A well-designed work environment not only improves comfort but also efficiency.
