IT-solutions provider 2M-IT has carried out significant renovations at its Jyväskylä office, located at Ohjelmakaari 10, a property owned by Kielo, to improve the working environment and meet the evolving needs of modern work. The goal of the renovation was to create a more pleasant and functional workspace. Kielo played a key role in ensuring the process was smooth and effortless.

2M-IT, known for its diverse IT solutions, has made substantial changes to its Jyväskylä premises to better support its employees and business operations.

“2M-IT operates in wellbeing services counties, offering a wide range of ICT services,” says Iina Naumanen, 2M-IT’s Facilities and Sustainability Specialist. The company aims to enhance its clients’ operations and services through modern technologies and digital solutions.

“Our company has offices in thirteen different regions across Finland, and we also provide on-site support and other services at our clients’ premises. The Jyväskylä office is one of our key locations,” Naumanen adds.

Workplace community spirit draws people to the office

In the post-COVID era, hybrid work models have become increasingly common, significantly changing the demand for office space. Many companies have downsized as employees prefer the flexibility of working from home. 2M-IT has also reduced square footage in several locations across Finland. However, the Jyväskylä premise at Ohjelmakaari 10 had to be expanded.

“Our employees genuinely enjoy coming to the Jyväskylä office, which created a need for more space. For example, the break areas had become too small. We’re happy that our staff wants to work on-site, and we wanted to provide them with a comfortable and functional environment,” Naumanen explains.

Located just three kilometers from Jyväskylä city center and close to major transport hubs, Ohjelmakaari 10 is easily accessible. According to Naumanen, many employees from other regions also visit the Jyväskylä office.

“The office is easy to reach by car or public transport, and it offers versatile spaces for focused work. That’s likely one reason why our employees enjoy being there so much,” she says.

Renovations in Kielo’s properties are tenant-centric

At 2M-IT’s request, the premise underwent extensive renovations. The kitchen was demolished and expanded, break areas were enlarged, and the floors and walls were updated. Kielo played a major role in executing the renovation. Naumanen emphasizes that Kielo managed the entire project from start to finish, making the process seamless.

“Kielo took care of everything. We just had to say what we wanted, and they made it happen,” Naumanen says.

Positive reception

Kielo is committed to creating great places to work, which is why flexibility and efficiency are prioritized in property renovations. According to Naumanen, the renovation progressed swiftly. Work began in November, and by the end of December, the office was ready.

“Kielo also arranged temporary premises for us in the same building, which made the transition smooth. Our employees were able to continue their work without disruption,” Naumanen says. The staff has been very pleased with the fresh and versatile new look of the office.

“Everyone has been really excited about the new premises,” Naumanen shares.
