Finland’s second-largest gym chain, Ole.Fit, will open a new gym in Kerava Kauppakaari by late spring. The goal of the domestic Ole.Fit is to grow the gym chain from the current 60 locations to one hundred in the coming years.
The strongly entrepreneur-driven gym chain has long aimed to open a new location in Kerava. Now the plans have progressed to the construction phase of the gym, and the opening will take place in late spring.
“Ole.Fit operates strongly under the responsibility of a local entrepreneur. With a license-based operating model, we offer our locations the brand image of our chain and, above all, our strong expert service. It’s great that we can now expand to Kerava with the right entrepreneur and premises found,” says Ole.Fit’s CEO Janne Virtanen.
Location is key in choosing premises
Marko Ryynänen will start as the new local entrepreneur for Ole.Fit Kerava. Ideal premises for the gym were easily found on the first floor of Kauppakaari, located in the center of Kerava. The key factors in choosing the premises were especially the excellent location at the end of the pedestrian street. Another key factor was definitely the modifiability of the premises for gym use.
“We needed spacious and freely modifiable premises for the gym, which we have now renovated over the winter. In addition to the approximately 500 square meter gym, the Kerava Ole.Fit gym will also have facilities for guided exercise, personal trainer services, and beautiful sauna facilities. We want to offer the people of Kerava not only gym membership but also a wide range of wellness services,” Ryynänen adds.

Cooperation with Kielo receives special thanks
Suitable premises for the future gym were easily found in collaboration with Kielo’s operators. Both Ryynänen and Virtanen thanks Kielo for successful cooperation regarding the selection and renovation of the premises.
“Cooperation with Kielo has been very smooth, and we have been able to rely on the schedules being kept and the agreed matters being adhered to. This is not necessarily a given when talking about modifying larger premises,” Virtanen says.
For Ryynänen himself, these were the first lease negotiations as an entrepreneur: “I was positively surprised by how flexibly we were able to influence the design of the premises and how well our wishes were taken into account in the overall plan,” Ryynänen notes.
